So here’s a suggestion; if you don’t have a primary business to write about, start by writing about something that interests you or you are passionate about. The key is to just start writing.

You can do a product review, write about your own product, if you have one, a hobby, a passion, a newsworthy event, a keyword or keyword phrase if you want to market to a particular niche. Write about you, your successes, your failures, what inspires or drives you.

Video Killed the Radio Star - This is HUGE – Video and social media are where it’s at these days, and the search engines love video too. So use video as part of your traffic and lead generation arsenal.

Create a short video that compliments the written content in your blog post. Be sure to upload your video to YouTube  and create your own YouTube Channel. Feel free to post other people’s videos too. You can get some great ideas on what to blog about from videos that people have posted on YouTube. Just grab the URL and embed it into your blog post.

Value plus Free, equals Money - The goal is to provide as much value as you  can to your audience. At the end of the day, it’s all about creating VALUE for your readers. If you give them FREE stuff – information, training, education, etc, they will end up buying from you!

Building and Maintaining Relationships - It’s all about building relationships. Engage your readers and encourage them to post comments. Ask questions in your blog posts and challenge your readers to engage.  In turn, you should reply to every comment they post. Create a sub-heading at the beginning of the body of your text, and break up the text with various sub-headings throughout the body. Draw the reader down the page and hold their interest with bullets, sub-headings and paragraphs with information carrying words.

Create “white” space on your page. Short paragraphs with plenty of spacing are easier to read and will entice your readers to stay on your page longer.

Include a strong call to action with hyperlinks to capture pages so you can capture email addresses.  Opt-in buttons, Request for Callback, Give Me Access NOW, etc hyper-linked buttons are all great.
